2006 USA/Maryland registered swimmer.

ENTRY LIMITS: Swimmers may enter/swim a maximum of 8 individual
events in the meet, not to exceed 3 events per day.
Teams
may enter one relay team per relay event.
Swimmers may swim in one relay per day.

BONUS EVENTS: Bonus events will be offered for the 11 & 12 and
10 & U age groups. The following
guidelines will be used for the bonus events:
·
Qualify
for 1 or more events, you get 2 bonus events.
·
The bonus
events may be on any day of the meet.
·
Events of
400 yards and longer may not be used as a bonus event (500 FR, 400 IM).
The bonus events must meet the following
time standards:
o
50 YD
bonus events must be within 1/2 second of the qualifying time for that event.
o
100 YD
bonus events must be within 1 second of the qualifying time for that event.
o
200 YD
bonus events must be within 2 seconds of the qualifying time for that event.
Note:
If the meet becomes oversubscribed the bonus events will be the first
entries removed from the meet. The 200 YD bonus events will be eliminated first
with the 100 YD and 50 YD bonus events next if necessary.
PROOF OF TIMES: Times will be proven through the SWIMS database. Coaches should be prepared to submit proof of
times upon request by the meet director for those times rejected by SWIMS. Failure to prove a time will result in the
swimmer being scratched from that event.
Any swimmer entered with a falsified or non-provable time will be
subject to a $100.00 fine per occurrence.
The HY-Tek proof of times report must be submitted with your entries.
FORMAT: All
age groups will swim prelims and finals with the exception of the 1650
freestyle. The 13-14 & Open age
groups will have a consolation heat and a championship heat (16 swimmers) in
the finals session. The 11-12 & 10
& U age groups will have a championship heat (8 swimmers) in the finals
session. The fastest heats of each 1650
event will be swum on Sunday beginning at

events and fails to compete in the event will be scratched from his/her next
individual event.

SPECIAL NOTE: Newly
achieved qualifying times for the Maryland Swimming
Championship Meet made at the CAA Mini and Distance Meet will be
accepted. Entries must be received by
9:00 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2006.

their representative. The additional
fees must be hand delivered to the meet director ON THE FIRST DAY of the
Maryland Swimming Championship Meet.

Inc. reserves the right to limit entries if the meet becomes
oversubscribed. If it becomes necessary,
the meet will be reduced in the following manner:

National Qualifying standards in 1 or more events will be a member of the
ALL-MARYLAND TEAM. The qualifying time
can be achieved at anytime during the year and in either SCY, SCM or LCM.

*The top two swimmers in each event who
have not achieved an ALL-MARYLAND TEAM time standard in any event. Only one jacket per swimmer regardless of how
many events a swimmer may qualify for.
Age Groups will be 10 & U, 11 &12, 13 & 14 and 15 – 18. Swimmers over age 18 are not eligible.

EVENTS WILL BE GIVEN.
RULES: The
2005-2006 USA Swimming & Maryland Swimming rules will be in effect and
shall govern the administration of the meet.
USA Swimming /Maryland Swimming Safety Guidelines and Warm-up procedures
will be in effect for the entire meet.
No one will be permitted on the pool deck unless he/she is registered
with USA Swimming as an athlete or as a non-athlete working at the meet and be
in possession of their current USA Swimming card. The only exceptions will be for timers and
administrative staff assisting with the conduct of the meet.
The
Maryland Scratch Procedures will apply for this meet. A declared false start in consolation &
championship final heats of preliminary/final events is prohibited. The Maryland Scratch Procedure may be found
on the Maryland Swimming Website (www.mdswim.org).
CONDUCT: St. Mary’s
College has requested that all parents, spectators and swimmers remain in the
aquatic center/pool area during the meet.
Loitering in the halls or other areas of the building is not
permitted. All policies of the Athletics
and Recreation Center and the Aquatic Center apply. Coaches will be responsible for the conduct
of their athletes. Parents will be
responsible for the conduct of their children.
Failure to follow these rules or any inappropriate behavior will result
in the swimmer being barred from further competition in the meet.
WORKERS: This meet is hosted by ALL TEAMS
of the Maryland Swimming LSC.
Any
Team with swimmers entered in the meet will be required to provide workers.
Each
Team Manager will be sent their worker assignments once entries have been
received. Worker assignments will also
be posted on the Maryland Swimming web site (www.mdswim.org).
Each
Club/Swimmer is responsible for supplying your own timers and counters for all
events on Thursday evening and for the 1650 Free.
REMINDER: The Team Manager
Worksheet must be sent with your team entries.
DIRECTIONS: From
the Washington Beltway, take Rt. 5 south to Waldorf. Turn left/south on Rt. 235
/ Rt. 5 in Waldorf and stay straight on Rt. 235 to Lexington Park. After reaching
Lexington Park, you will pass the main gate at the Patuxent River Naval Air
Station. Continue past Lexington Park for six (6) miles and make a right onto
Mattapany Road. Go approximately 1.8 miles and turn right onto E. Fisher
Rd. Somerset Hall is the large brick building on the right. Parking Lot Z is on the left.
From Baltimore take Rt. 301 south to Rt. 4 in Upper Marlboro. Take Rt.
4 south to Solomon’s Island. Cross the
bridge and proceed to the intersection of Rt. 4 and Rt. 235. Make a left on Rt.
235 south to Lexington Park and follow the highlighted directions above.
From Annapolis take Rt. 2/4 south to the intersection in Sunderland.
Turn left/south to Solomon’s Island and follow the highlighted directions
above.
All
spectators and participants must park in Lot Z.
