1K-
Circuit. Swimmers
11 years and Older.
3K- Circuit. Swimmers 13 Years and Older who have attained
a 13-14 “a” time in 500 Yard Free or a 13-14 “BB” time in the 1650 yard Free.
If
Numbers necessitate races will be started with a Boys Heat then a Girls Heat.
Race Safety: The US Coast Guard, MWR
Lifeguards, and Soloman Island EMT Departments will be available. The Coast Guard, MWR Lifeguards and
volunteers from the Potomac Raiders Swim Club will monitor the race course to
ensure swimmers safety during competition.
Awards: 200 Meter: Medals 1-8th
400 Meter: Medals 1-8th
1K: Medals 1-3rd 11-12, 13-14, 15-18,
and Open.
3k:
Medals 1-3rd 13-14, 15-18, and Open.
Teams:
Plaque to team with the top combined time for 4 swimmers in 1K and 3K.
Rules: All
applicable USA-Swimming/ Maryland Swimming Inc. Open Water rules shall govern
all races. Please see USA-Swimming Rules
& Regulations Part Seven for more information. The wearing of wetsuits or floatation devices
will result in disqualification from the meet.
Personal escorts will not be permitted on the race course. The race organizers primary objective is for
the safety of the participants and reserves the right to disqualify individuals
for breach of safety or cancel the event if conditions deem necessary.
Eligibility: The race is open
to all currently registered USA-Swimming athletes. Entrants must have proof of eligibility with
entry. For those not registered with
USA-Swimming, a one day registration form will be available at the Beach. See entry form for details. Host club reserves the right to limit entries
in each event to ensure safety.
Entry Procedure: All swimmers must fill out and
return the attached entry form either by the mailing deadline or at the beach
($10 extra). Coaches it is preferred
that your entries are done Hy-Tek Team Manager by disk or email them to the
addresses below. All entry forms for
each swimmer and fees must be received before a swimmer is eligible to compete.
IMPORTANT: In order to make sure all swimmers and their
families have access to the base we must have a list of all potential
participants to us 5 days prior to the race.

Eligibility: All Swimmers must
registered USA-Swimming Members.
1-Day Registrations: One-day USA-Swimming Registrations
will available at Race Registration. All
swimmers who register on the Beach must register as a 1 day member or bring
proof of USA-Swimming registration with them to registration. All coaches and swimmers must be prepared to
show proof of registration.

Attire: All
participants are required to wear a swimsuit, brightly colored cap (caps will
be provided for each race), and have entry number written on back and both
shoulders. The wearing of wetsuits or use
of floatation devices will result in the disqualification of the athlete and
ineligibility for awards.

10AM:
3K. This race is for ages 13 years and
older. The race will begin at the
starting beach. Swimmers will swim out
to the 100 Meter buoy and turn right swimming 400 Meters making a left loop
around buoy and swim 400 Meters towards the 200 Meter Buoy keeping it on your
left side Swimmer will then continue 1000 Meters making a left loop and return
to 100 meter buoy turning right to the start/finish line. Race course is subject to change depending on
conditions. Time Limit
90 minutes.
11:45am: 12 & Younger
400 Meter Swim. This 400 meter event
will be swum past the 100 meter buoy keeping it on the left and continue 100
Meters to a second buoy making a left loop around and returning to start/finish
line. Time Limit 20
minutes.
12:15pm: 1K.
This race is for ages 11 and over. The race will begin at the starting beach. Swimmers will swim out to the 200 Meter Buoy
(second buoy from shore) turn left at the buoy swimming along shore 300 meters
to a third buoy making a left loop around returning along the shore side back
to the 200 meter buoy making a right turn at which point they will swim back to
shore to the Start/finish Line. Race
course is subject to conditions. Race
Time Limit: 45 minutes
Awards will be
presented at the conclusion of the meet for all events during the participant
lunch at the stage area next to the pool.
